Submission Deadline: 3 October 2005, 5pm
(No extensions will be granted)
Last year, the second DCF was held and proved to be a tremendous success. 38 projects were selected to pitch at the Preliminaries at the Encounters Documentary Festival in July/August 2004, 9 of which received interest or a letter of intent from local broadcaster, SABC.
The final rounds once again took place at the Sithengi Film & TV Market in November 2004. Of the 28 final projects selected to pitch at this round, 9 projects received interest from the international broadcasters in attendance.
The DCF contributes directly to increased opportunities and improvement in documentary filmmaking in Southern Africa.
Pitching Workshop
On 13th November there will be a Pitching Workshop prior to the 10th Sithengi Film & Television Market, Cape Town, 15 - 18 November 2005.
At the Pitching Workshop an expert will advise filmmakers on their presentations and on the international commissioning editors and broadcasters who will be attending the DCF.
