With courses that are affordable, relevant and rely on practical experience as opposed to theoretical, Brushstrokes has developed a reputation for being a dynamic, professional and experienced Makeup school.


In keeping with their ideology: "To bring beauty to all", Brushstrokes is offering 2 lucky aspirant artists a scholarship to the value of R 10 000.00 to qualify as fully trained Make-up artists under their mentorship. And they are looking everywhere!!

The course includes the following:

  • USE OF FOUNDATION,POWDER AND CONCEALER
  • USE OF MAKE-UP PRODUCTS AND BRUSHES
  • EYE SHADOW APPLICATIONS, BASIC AND ADVANCED
  • LIP AND CHEEK DEFINING
  • COLOUR THEORY
  • STYLING OF MAKE-UP FOR FASHION
  • RAMP & STAGE
  • TV & FILM
  • FASHION & PHOTOGRAPHIC
  • PERIOD MAKE-UP
  • BRIDAL
  • CORRECTIVE
  • DARK SKIN TONES
  • CULTURAL LOOKS
  • MALE GROOMING
  • ON-LOCATION PHOTOGRAPHIC SHOOT (optional)
  • BASIC HAIRSTYLING COURSE (optional)

Brushstrokes will offer one lucky applicant the chance to study full time, and another the chance to study part time- so there is no time to lose!

Applicants are required to show the following:

  1. All personal information including:
    - Name
    - Age
    - Address and Full Contact details
    - Gender -
  2. A one page motivational letter on why you would be the ideal candidate and why you want to be a makeup artist.

Applicants will be required to be available from the 7th of May to the 17th of June for Full time studies, and until the 15th of July for part time students.

The appointment will be made in accordance with Brushstrokes' employment Equity initiatives and as such preference will be afforded to HDIs.

Closing deadline for applications: 20 April 2005

Short-listed applicants will be notified in the 3rd week of April, for interviews.

If you have not received correspondence by the 25th of April, you may assume that your application was not successful.
