Esther Henderson, Chief Communications Officer

35 Year old South African Esther Henderson has carved a dynamic career in marketing and communications within the tourism, media and film industries.


Esther obtained her BA degree, with majors in Communications and German, from Unisa and further pursued her Honours studies in Advanced Communication Research.

Her extensive professional training and work experience spans 16 years in Public Relations; Media & Film Liaison; Protocol and Corporate Events Management; Public Education; Tours Co-ordination; Administration; Compiling & presenting for Radio; Script Writing, On-camera Presenting and Voice-overs. She has fulfilled these roles in various organisations including government and parastatals, such as the Department of Local Government, Housing and Agriculture; the Parliament of South Africa and the Robben Island Museum.

Esther was appointed as Sithengi's Chief Communications Officer in June 2003, responsible for managing strategic marketing and communications processes for the organisation, the Festival and the Market.

She also works as a part-time radio DJ.

An ardent writer, Esther has over the years added a compilation of poems and lyrics (unpublished) to her personal repertoire. 

She successfully juggles her career with her role as wife and mother of three.
