Yes, it's that time of year again when Cape Town comes alive with the diverse forms of creativity that is synonymous with South African culture through the Cape Town Festival. One such form of creativity is film. South African filmmaking has become increasingly recognised as an art form that not only gives depth to the visual expression of our society, but also offers an opportunity to bring an authentic cinematic experience to the South African public - an experience that you will find in the Cape Town World Cinema Festival.
The Cape Town World Cinema Festival, curated by Sithengi, is an annual showcase of international feature films, documentaries and short films with a key focus on local content that is entertaining, stimulating and thought-provoking. As we celebrate Sithengi's 10th Anniversary this year, we are proud to pre-empt, what promises to be an awesome celebration, with a showcase of magnificent local and international short films as part of the offerings at the Cape Town Festival.
Set right at the water's edge of the V&A Waterfront and against the backdrop of Table Mountain, the CTISFF open-air screenings promise something for the whole family - where else will you be able to enjoy films whilst eating your ice-cream or hot take-away meal and breathe in the crisp Atlantic air?
Select the films you wish to see from the following screening schedule and expect to be entertained by the CTISFF, hosted by the Cape Town Festival in collaboration with the Cape Town World Cinema Festival.
