First International Wildlife Film Festival for South Africa

Inspired by the wild and the african sun, South Africa the most sought after destination for wildlife filmmaking will be the host country for the first ever international Wild Talk Africa film festival.

Across the globe delegates from the wildlife and natural history filmmaking community will descend on the sunny coast of Durban in South Africa and will have the opportunity to meet, network and negotiate with Commissioning Editors, International Distributors and Producers as they are brought together under one roof at the Durban International Conference Centre (ICC) in April 2006.

Representatives from Discovery Animal Planet, BBC NHU, National Geographic, Off The Fence Distributors and Tigress Productions will chair discussion groups as topical and current wildlife filmmaking issues are debated. An extensive programme has been compiled and highlights include; "Ethics in filming wildlife"- how far does one go to get the ultimate shot? "New trends in wildlife filmmaking" - what are Commissioning Editors looking for in 2007 and "Conversations with filmmakers" - get to hear valuable wildlife filmmaking tips from the experts. Screenings of top award winning wildlife and natural history films will run throughout the festival.
