INDV (Independent Digital Feature Film Initiative) has launched a supporters forum on its website.
Go to www.indv.co.za/forum. and have your say on the current state of the South African film industry, as well as INDV itself. With NFVF funding having dried up, the original INDV production model is problematic, as it relies on grant funding. Independent filmmakers are invited to visit the site and suggest new models of production or low-cost productions as INDV projects.
INDV has two Sony HDV cameras as well as a HDV edit suite with HD monitor available in Cape Town, in addition to Sennheiser mics, lighting kits, tripods, etc. This is an open invitation to penniless independent filmmakers - if you have a hot idea for a short or feature, and all you need are cameras and edit facilities, then go the site and make contact with INDV.
