My passion for Film developed in 1989 while working on a feature film for SABC.
After working in the industry for a few years, I moved on to complete my Honours degree at university (Wits), majoring in Film and Media. It was while studying Documentary and Third Cinema that I was initiated into the works of African filmmakers (Mambety,Kamba,Sembene) and the tradition of oral storytelling restructured into cinematic form. During this period I was also given the opportunity to write, direct and produce various independent projects, which included experimental ‘collage' filmmaking for which I obtained a distinction.
I have since worked on Corporate Videos, TV series, Commercials and Features, in various capacities of post production and production. I also write voice-over scripts. My move into the Marketing/Sales arena has been a successful one, which has expanded my knowledge of the film industry as a business.
I look forward to being part of the Sithengi team for this year's events.
