SABC 3 has established itself as a home for innovative programming, delivering talked-about programme content to its audiences. It is our vision to strengthen our hold on successful genres that we have established.
One of our projects is an emergency series that will deliver to lovers of the very successful "Rescue 911", but also respond to an increased appetite for factual / reality-based programming."Trauma Team" will be made in conjunction with Netcare 911 and will be a road-side/domestic emergency series recorded at real-time rescue operations - not dramatized. The emphasis will be on real-life human drama and the heroics of the rescue teams. The initial series will be 13 half-hour episodes with a possibility for renewal. We are inviting directors who wish to be considered to direct this series to submit their CV's. The following should be noted:
-
The successful candidate will be contracted as an individual, rather than a member or owner of a company
-
He/she will work directly under Netcare 911 and the Executive Producer appointed by them.
-
Production will start in March 2005, therefore availability is crucial.
-
The applicant must be able to demonstrate:
-
-
Experience in directing under time pressures in a live, pressurized situation.
-
Experience in reality film directing.
-
Ability to structure narrative.
-
Ability to build up sympathetic characters that the audience can identify with.
-
Willingness to work round the clock if called upon to.
-
Ability to deal with potentially dark subject matter in a way that will be orientated towards a mainstream audience.
