Taking SA to Cannes

A short film, Under the Rainbow, commissioned by M-Net and directed and produced by three talented young film makers whilst completing their studies at the South African School of Motion Picture has been selected to be showcased at the Cannes Film Festival.

Dean Blumberg, Adam Thal and Ryan Poole have been invited to attend the Festival de Cannes where their 18 minute short film will be screened, however, they are seeking sponsorship to cover the costs of their trip. The trio will offer sponsors the opportunity of including their company logo's on all promotional items including posters, shirts and tog bags that will accompany them. In addition sponsors will be included in all public relations efforts.

A poetic reaction of actual events which took place in the inner city of Johannesburg, the film is shot in Zulu with English subtitles.

Under the Rainbow was awarded the Grand Prize Winner at the 2004 Cabbagetown Short Film Festival held in Toronto. The film won the Best Short Film award at the 2003, Short End World Schools Festival in London and was the recipient of the Certificate of Mention at the International Festival of Schools in Mexico City in the same year.

Interested parties can contact Adam Thal on +27 82 927 8930 or Ryan Poole on +27 82 398 1444.
