The 8th Annual International Film Festival in SHORT EXPRESSION 2005

The International Film Festival IN SHORT EXPRESSION 2005 has invited South Africa to take part in this year's event. The objective of the festival is to offer more opportunities for the exhibition of short films and documentaries, rewarding the quality of these films with materials and equipment so as to continue with the task of making movies. Bringing together experts in the film business as well as novices and those just interested in seeing quality and knowing more.


The festival will take place from the 23rd to the 30th of July 2005 with the principal location in the city of Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allande, Mexico.

Competition Categories:
SHORT FICTION AND ANIMATION
VIDEO ART AND EXPERIMENTAL (short format)
DOCUMENTARY (short and feature lengths)

The following formats will be accepted:
35 mm, 16mm, Digital and Betacam.
The films must have been finished after the 1st of January 2004.

EXHIBITION:
Non-competitive, feature films, retrospectives, photographs, Installation Art and Performances are programmed in this section.

CONDITIONS:
A - Registration cost is $20 USD per film
B - There is no limit for the registration of short films or documentaries, neither for the producer nor for the producing entity.
C - The duration of short films is a minimum of one minute and maximum of thirty minutes including credits.
D - Video clips, commercial work or publicity films are not accepted.
E - In order to be admitted, the materials must be presented in Spanish, English or with subtitles in either of these languages, preferably in Spanish.
F - Three (3) copies in VHS, in NTCS system are required. These copies
      shall  not be returned. Please include the following:
       - Fixed photo of the work or press kit (with poster or postal) - Synopsis
         of the work - Director's Resume 
       - Director's photograph
       - Film Credits
       - Posters
G - The limit for registration and delivery of materials is May 14th 2005.
H - The date of the post office stamp shall be considered valid, both for registration and for delivery.
I - All the mailing expenses of the participating works, from their place of origin to the address of this organization shall be paid exclusively by the participant. The festival will not be responsible for the cost of receiving the materials (cassettes, posters, photos, etc)
J - The festival shall be in charge of the order and date of exhibition of each work. Once a film has been admitted for participation it cannot be withdrawn.

SELECTION AND JURY

The selection of the works shall be of the competence of the organization of the festival by means of an International Jury, made up of professionals in the movie media, whose names shall be given at the right moment. The judge's decision is final and cannot be appealed.

PRIZES

The festival shall give each one of the participants in the competitive section a Diploma and the winners will receive materials grated by our sponsors (films, developing, transfer, equipment rental for the execution of more films) and trophies.
