The Documentary Co-Production Forum (DCF) is an initiative aimed at improving the documentary co-production opportunities for Southern African filmmakers.
The Documentary Co-Production Forum (DCF) seeks to present high quality documentary film projects from Southern Africa to a variety of international commissioning editors with the potential for co-production/commission. Projects presented in the forum need to have secured 20% of their budget in order to qualify for selection and broadcaster commitment is beneficial.
By the time the projects are presented at the DCF at Sithengi they are well developed in terms of seeking international finance and co-production partners.
The DCF, modeled on IDFA, involves local filmmakers pitching to a panel of international commissioning editors before an audience. Filmmakers have 12 minutes to pitch their project - 7 minutes to pitch and 5 minutes for questions and the forum is open to all members to observe.
The DCF will take place in the Arena Theatre on the 17th and 18th of November.
