This gripping film lives through a stubborn Palestinian family's initial agony when they must share their house with Israeli soldiers.
Mohammad (Bakri) is a stern teacher who lives in a rural area of Palestine with his young wife Samiah (Omari) and their five children. Mohammad's refusal to leave the Israeli-occupied zone is tested when a group of soldiers burst into their home and set up an observation post. The family live in the ground floor of the house, while the soldiers, led by Ofer (Miller), occupy the upper floor and forbid anyone to enter. Tension in the family and house grows, and the family indulges in small acts of passive rebellion. Jamal (Alsaying) rebuilds the greenhouse that the soldiers destroy every night, while Mariam (Ayoub) hides in the upstairs cupboard and sees the occupiers as people, not soldiers.
